Fi t Care Auxiliary Memorials for 20 ! 8 Our Heartfelt Thanks: When we lost Tony - a super husband, father, grandfather and teacher, so many made it easier for us to bear our loss. It will never be forgotten. Special thanks to Pastor Theresa, Joel, Lori, Sheryl and Lori for making Tony's service wonderful. Thanks, too, to the ladies who provided and served a nice lunch and also sending food with us. It was much appreci- ated. We appreciated the American Legion Post #147 being in attendance. Lastly, our thanks and appreciation to all who attended the service, sent cards, memorials and gave flowers. What a wonderful community to be a part of for 54 years. I still miss it! God Bless each and every one of you and we pray 2019 is good to you! I want to share a recent experience that started off scary but left me amazed by First Care Health Center. The journey starts with me taking pictures of Christina Bata's Cooking Class. I developed the strangest sensation -- pressure in my chest. I was sweating and light-headed. I thought I was having a heart attack. I went back to the nurses station where Lindsay listened to my heart. It was beating really fast. She hooked me up to an EKG and thought it could be SVT (supraventricular tachycardia, abnormally fast heart rhythm). At one point my pulse was 191. She said there could be a chance that it should con- vert back by coughing forcefully or bearing down. It worked. Dr. Mandi came in and verified that it was SVT. She was happy that I converted it on my own. It was 7:10 and I said, "Good, I can still make the Aggies girls' basketball game." Dr. Mandi said, "Not so quick." I was so impressed, absolutely amazed by the care I received. I'm just using first names but Lindsay checked me in right away at the Nurse's Station and hooked me up to an EKG right away. Wendy did a great job inserting an IV, Stacy did wonder- ful at drawing blood throughout the night (couldn't even feel the needle). Most impor- tautly Tessa and Roberta my nurses for the evening did an amazing job. Little trouble hooking up to the wireless EKG but we laughed and laughed a lot. Lois and Sarah didgreat with my vitals, blood drawing just before my discharge. I got the best care imaginable. The staff was so polite, so un- derstanding and so willing to listen to all of my stupid questions. I don't know if all in the area appreciate what a wonde ] facility we have in our backyard. Man 'dOn't thi k that a small town facility CAn ri /al a large city.Hospital. I tell you what, the Staff at First Care is the best at the best. Small town, I'm sure they are overworked and underpaid but I hope everyone in the area appreciates them. Dr. Mahdi was great in her handling the situ- ation, explaining SVT and virtually making me stay the night. All my test turned our normal, so I do have peace of mind. I'm Larry Biri and that's all I gotta say about that.
