I've been asked for this recipe
again this year. It really is unusual
--a good conversation piece for par-
tics. Please follow the directions
even though they seem queer, at
least the first time you bake these.
DATE NUT COOKIES
Cut fine 2 cups nuts and 11/ cups
dates. Add ]/ cup sugar, 1 tea-
spoon vanilla and grated rind of a
lemon or orange. Mix all thor-
oughly.
Fold in beaten whiles of 3 eggs.
Drop by spoonful on sugared
night.
cooky sheets and let stand over
Bake 10 minutes In 250 degree
oven. Let cool before removing
from pan. Makes about two dozen
very rich--but not sweet---cookies,
a welcome change.
