Military Veterans who are currently enrolled in the VA Health Care System and widows that are currently in receipt of CHAMPVA benefits qualify for a discounted dental insurance through the Veterans Affairs Dental Insurance Program (VADIP). The program offers three plans: Enhanced, Comprehensive, and Prime. For North Dakota and Minnesota Veterans the monthly premiums are $22.61 for the Enhanced Plan, $38.91 for the Comprehensive Plan, and $48.47 for the Prime Plan. The most popular service that Veterans state they need involve getting dentures. This service in particular is not covered by the Enhanced, cheap- est, Plan and there is a 12 month waiting period before any major serv- ices can be done. The details of what is covered, when and by how much ig all listed in the enrollment booklet that I can mail out to you for your review. Other than a few circumstances, such as being 100% service-con- nected through the VA or being in receipt of VA Pension, there really aren't any dental benefits through the VA for Veterans. It would take an act of Congress for this to be corrected. If you would like more information regarding the VADIP, please give me a call at 701-352-5030 to schedule an appointment or to let me know that you'd like the packet mailed out. Thank you for your service.
