I PAGE 2 THE PRESS DECEMBER 4, 2013 Altru's Hospice to Host Tree of Light Memorial Ceremony PARK RIVER, N.D. -- Altru Health System, Grand Forks, ND - Altru's Hospice will hold its 26th an- nual Tree of Light Memorial cere- mony on Sunday, December 8, 2013, 4 p.m. at the Park River Ambulance building in Park River, ND, and at 5:30 p.m. at the Valley Ambulance and Rescue Service building in Grafton, ND. During the holiday season, these community events provide a way for families and friends to remember loved ones who have passed away. Please join in celebration and re- membrance at the tree lighting cer- emony and the reading of the names followed by holiday refreshments. If you cannot attend, KXPO radio 1310 AM will broadcast each cer- emony. Names of those to be remem- bered and donations were to be sub- miffed by by December 2, 2013, to: Tree of Light Memorial at Altru's Hospice c/o First Care Health Cen- ter or Altru's Hospice c/o Unity Medical Center. Samuelson, age 89 of Fairdale and Adams, ND passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Fairdale. Opal Irene McLaughlin was born March 14, 1924 in Cleveland Town- ship of Walsh County, ND the daugh- ter of the late William and Clara (Nagel) McLaughlin. She attended ru- ral school in Lankin, ND. Opal was united in marriage to Nell Olson in 1946. On December 2, 1956 she was united in marriage to Willard C. Samuelson in Fordville, ND. The cou- ple lived and farmed near Adams, ", ND. Opal was currently living in Fairdale, ND and enjoyed helping her daughter Sheila with the Caf6 in Fairdale. Her baking skills were well known. Opal was a member of the Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Church, rural Adams, ND. She was an active member of the Adams American Legion Auxiliary. Opal is survived by her children: Harold (Cheryl) Olson, Lankin, ND; Rolland (Rita) O1- son, Colorado Springs, CO; Keith (Cynthia) Olson, Colorado Springs, CO; Sheila (Gene) Myrvik, Fairdale, ND; Corrine (Eric) Aasmundstad, Devils Lake, ND; Janet (Javiar) Castellanos, Santa Maria, CA. 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchil- dren with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard, and sister Crystal McLaughlin. Funeral services will be Wednes- day, December 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Mountain Lutheran Church in Adams, ND. Visitation will be Tues- day from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. In- terment will be at Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Cemetery in the spring. Greicar, age 68 of Park River, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Allen C. Greicar was born De- cember 15, 1944 in Park River, ND the son of Charles and Nettle (Cicha) Greicar.
