Pa e 2 THE WALSH COUNTY PRESS WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2017 RachelAnne Famsworth Rachel Anne Famsworth, age 36, was healed from a 4-month battle with cancer and entered the presence of Je- sus her Savior on November 2, 2017, at her home in Lino Lakes, MN, sur- rounded by family. Rachel was born in Fargo, ND on November 6, 1980, the second of five daughters born to Richard Jr and Ruth (Christo- pherson) Clarens. Rachel gradu- ated from Fargo North High School in 1999 and Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, in 2003. Rachel met the love of her life, Jim Farnsworth, while in high school, playing violin as stand partners in the ND All-State Or- chestra and later while both at- tended Concordia College. Rachel and Jim were married on August 20, 2005 near Park River, ND, making their home in Shore- view, MN, then Lino Lakes. Rachel had a deep and genuine faith in God. She prioritized her own Christian growth and that of her children, teaching AWANA, participating in Bible Study Fel- lowship, and instructing her chil- dren in the ways of the Lord. The joy of her life was being a mother to her children and a helpmate to her husband. Trips to the family farm and lake cabins were fa- vorite destinations. Rachel was a multi-talented homemaker. She always had a home improvement project in the works or a loaf of banana bread in the oven. Rachel was a true servant and quick to befriend those around her. She will be remembered for her hum- ble service to God and unselfish love toward all she came in contact with. Rachel is sur- vived by her hus- band, Jim; and their children, Alina, age 11, Nathaniel, age 8, Naomi, age 6, and Clara, age 4, all of Lino Lakes; her parents, Ruth and Richard Clarens Jr., Fargo; grandfather, Richard Clarens Sr., Fargo; sis- ters, Christine (Eric) Uggerud, Fergus Falls, MN, and their chil- dren, Josiah, Lydia, Anna and Timothy, Johanna Clarens, Rich- field, MN, Andrea Clarens, Fargo, and Laura Clarens, St. Paul, MN; her in-laws, Arlene and David Farnsworth, Bismarck, ND; aunts; uncles; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Leone (Metcalf) Clarens, and Bergetta (Flaten) and Leonard Christopherson. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Inheritance of Hope, PO Box 90, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768. Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, 4 PM to 6:30 PM, River of Life Church, Shoreview, with a visitation service at 6:30. Funeral service was held at Hope Lutheran Church, north campus, Fargo, on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017, at 10:30 AM, with visitation be- ginning at 9 AM. Elznic Ruth A. Elznic, age 75 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Ruth Ann Mastre was born November 3, 1942 in Park River, ND, the daughter of the late Vernon and Norma (Gillespie) Mastre. She grew up and attended school there. Fol- lowing her education, she worked several places in the Park River area including the Eastside Drive- Inn, the Dairy Queen, Jim's Super Valu, as well as selling Avon for a number of years until her health forced her to retire. She was united in marriage to Lee Elznic on August 29, 1981 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Hoople. The couple made their home in Park River. Ruth was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Hoople. She loved horses, bowling, softball and spending time with her family. She is survived by her sisters-in- law: Joni Mastre, Park River, ND, Linda Mastre, West Fargo, ND, JoAnn Mastre, Park River, ND, brother-in-law Wallace "Butch" Skjordal, Surprise, AZ, as well as nu- merous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee, sib- lings Ronnie, Donnie, Bob, Kenny and Janice Skjordal. She was also preceded by two infant siblings. Memorial services were held Friday, November 10,2017 at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Visitation was Friday from 5-7 at the funeral home. Inurement will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery of Park River at a later date. The Brintnell family would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who organized, helped, attended, and donated to the amazing benefit held for Perry. The outpouring of love, support, and generosity was simply overwhelming! It was a day that truly touched our hearts! We are also so very grateful when we say many thanks to our friends, neighbors, and community members for all the acts of kindness; to the Fordville Quick Response, Park River Ambulance, and other caring people who assisted at the scene of Perry's accident, to the Altru staff for the amazing care, to all our friends who helped us with harvest and to everyone who gave us a standing offer to help as we knew if we needed it we could call you at anytime, and finally to everyone for all the prayers, well wishes, visits to the hospital, food brought to our home, and help in so many different forms that were sent to Perry and our family after his accident. The kindness and generosity shown by everyone is so appreciated and will never be forgotten! Gary, Kristi, and Kaitlyn Brian and Colie Nathan, Breanna, and Levi Dorothy Rose Dorothy Rose Shereck, 80, of Devils Lake, ND, formerly Lawton, ND, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake, ND after a long battle with Alzheimer's and multiple myeloma. Dorothy Rose Kotaska was born April 2, 1937, ten minutes before her twin sister Joann, to Lewis and Josephine (Kachena) Kotaska. She grew up in the Conway/Pisek area and attended the local town- ship school until 8th grade. She worked helping local families with babysitting, cleaning, etc. She worked at the Park River Hospital as a nurse's aide before marrying Albert J ShereckAugust 27, 1958 in Pisek, ND. The couple moved multiple times before settling in and around Lawton. In 1964, Dorothy and Albert became busi- ness partners in Watkins Products. They became very successful. They were initial inductees into Watkins Presidents Club, among the top 3 in the nation, earning many awards and trips. Dorothy cherished the many lifelong friends she made through Watkins, and her many generous deeds of volunteering. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, flowers, and garden- ing. She was an active member of the Altar Society, Catholic Work- man, Lawton Senior Center, and Lawton Town Board. She worked at LouEUs in Lawton, cooking for years. She continued delivering Grand Forks Herald long after each of her kids did it for their fLrst job. She raised her kids to "pay it forward" with the gift of giving to others.
