Hall and Sons potato ware- houses. Chuck said the mid- engrt of the structure was ulfed when they at- rived. He said it was an ex- tremely hot and fast moving fire. Chuck wanted to com- mend al elire dep that responded, Edinburg, Hoople, Crystal, Mountain, Adams, Park River and the Cavalier/ Force Slalbn Fie Department. He said he couldn't believe how quickly the other deparlments ar- rived and how well they all worked toge r. Chuck said not once did they run out of water. W' h no fire hydrants they depended on all the |lucks for water. A Chuck surveys what's left of the warehouses later Friday af- temoon. Bottom Left: Cindy Vargason, manager of Mar- ket on Main in Edinburg, hauled cases of water to the Edinburg fire station and made coffee for the firelight- ers and medical responders to the J.G. Hall and Sons po- tato warehouse fire early Fri- day rooming. Cindy said that some of their suppliers do- nated bread, 10uns and potato chips. John T Evenson brought polkto the hall for sandwiches and Carol Bjornson went home and made cookies for the lfre- fighters. Halls ran a open ac- count atthe Edinburg Cenex where they made pizzas and other food items for the fire- man. Only in small town North Dakota do you see a response such as this from its residents. Bottom Right: Car- ol Bjomson went to Maker on Main for milk and saw that they were making coffee for the fireman. Carol said she wanted to do her part so she asked herself, "What goes good with coffee?" She de- dded what better than cook- ies? She went home and made dozens of cookies for the fireman. Her husband John Bjomson (in the back- ground) worked for J.G. Hall and Sons for over 40 years starling in the potato warehouses that burned down.
