Whether if is 'cookie, brownie, name it. With a variety of recipes in this week's column, maybe there is something you would like. Cornflake Macaroons 4 egg whites • 1 C. sugar • 2 C. coconut • 4 C. cornflakes • 1 tsp. vanilla Beat egg whites until Stiff, add remaining ingredients. Drop by spoonful onto greased cook sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 12 to t 5 minutes. Peanut Butter Muffins 2 C. sifted flour • 3 tsp. baking powder • 1/2 tsp. salt • 1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar • 1 egg, beaten • 1 C. milk, 1/3 C. creamy peanut butter Sift dry ingredients together. Combine egg, milk and peanut butter. Add to dry ingredients all at once. Stir just enough to moisten well. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full and bake at 375-400 degrees for 20 minutes. / Brownies 1 1/2 C. shortening, less 1 Tbsp. • 6 sq. chocolate • 2 1/4 C. sugar • 1 3/4 C. flour • 3/4 tsp. salt • 6 eggs', beaten well • 1 tsp. vanilla Melt over low heat, the shortening and chocolate. Add the thoroughly beaten eggs, gradually add the sugar and mix until all is blended well. Add sifted dry ingredients, mix. Pour into a well greased 17 x 11 inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. While hot, spread this frosting! 2 1/2 C. powdered sugar • 1/3 C. milk • 2 sq. melted chocolate • 1 1/2 Tbsp. melted butter • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla Mix ingredients, spread on brownies at once.
