THE PRESS PAGE 2 SEPTEMBER 26, 2012 ,,i Art "Junie" Tallackson Art "Junie" Tal- lackson, age 79 of Graflon, ND, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Arthur J. Tallack- son, Jr. was born June 12, 1933, in ., Grafton, ND. He was the son of the late Arthur J. Sr. and Mabel (Me Dougald) Tallackson. He at- tended rural school at Mandt, ND, and graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND, in 1951. He attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wah- peton, ND. for a year. and then returned home and started farm- ing. Art was.united in marriage to Delores "Dody" McPherson on January 25, 1952. in East Grand Forks. MN. The couple made their home near Grafion where they farmed until his death. Art accepted Christ as his per- sonal Savior in 1966. He was a member of the Living Word Family Church in Grand Forks. ND. the Gideon Society, Fair Oaks and Hillcrest Golf Clubs, and the Grafton Curling Club. Art skipped his team to the 1970 U.S. Curling Championship; he was also named All American Skip. When he wasn&apos;t busy working on the farm, he loved o sit in his screened porch and watch wildlife and the activitie+s :t. around the yard. Art also loved to buy old tractors and restore them to running condition, and he was cur- rently working on several tractors. Art is survived by his wife Dody, Grafton, ND; chil- dren: James (Carol) Tallackson, Grafton, ND; Anita (Dan) Pas- solt, Fargo, ND; Donalld (Donell) Tallackson, Houston., TX: 11 grandchildren: six great grand- children; siblings: Harvey (Glenn a) Tallackson, Grafton, ND: Faye Murie. Jamestown, ND; Doris Lauf, Fargo, ND; and Ruth Schwenker, Chicago, IL. Art was preceded in death by his three infant children, his broth- ers: Ross, Bert. George and William,. and his parents, Art and Mabel. Funeral services will be Satur- day, September 29. 2012, at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hoople, ND. Vis- itation will be Friday from 5 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Satur- day for one hour prior to the service. Harriet E. Moen Erickson Harriet E. Moen Erickson, age 87 of Park River, ND passed away on Sat- urday, September 22, 2012 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Harriet Mc- Cauley was born on December 16, 1924 in Success, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter o'f the late William J. and Iva Mac (Cameron) McCauley. She at- tended schools in the Park River area, graduating from the Walsh County Agricultural and Training. School in 1943. Following her education she worked as a nurse's aide at the St. Ansgar's Hospital. as well as at several re- tail stores and at the school in Park River. She was united in marriage to George Moen on January 19, 1945 at the Pleasant Valley Church in rural Park River. He passed away on April 7, 1974. She later married Gun- nard Erickson on May 24. 1986 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Park River. Gunnard passed away on July 25. 1986. She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church and WELCA of Park River. She has sewn and hand embroidered all baptism towels for many years. up to the time of her death, for Our Say,our's in Park River. She was an accomplished seam- stress and did several counter cross stitch pictures for her grandkids. She enjoyed doing Sudoku and cross- word puzzles every day. She is survived by her children: George (Faye) Moen, Park River, ND, Judith (Dar- rell) Myrvik, West Fargo, ND, Kathryn (Dwight) Myrvik, Fargo, ND, Susan (Bruce) Phelps, Park River, ND, Cynthia (Scott) Sobolik, Fargo, ND, Tim- othy (Jan) Moen, West Fargo, ND, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her im- mediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands George and Gunnard, brothers: Wilbur. Fordyce, Juel. James. and sister Mildred. Funeral services were held , Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Say,our's Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation was on Monday fyom 5-7, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Toltefson Funeral Home of Park River. Interment will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Park River. Memorials are preferred to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church Maintenance Fund or First Care Health Center. Lind- Jeff (Allison) gren, age 87 of Park Lindgren, Cathay, ND, and Jerel River, passed away on Monday, Sep- tember 17, 2012 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Dorothy A. Hau- gen and her identi- cal twin sister were born September 29, 1924, near Gonvick, MN, the daughter of the late Ole and Florence (Johnson) Haugen. She grew up and attended school in Gonvick. Dorothy went to Minneapolis and worked follow- ing school. After several years she went to work with her broth- ers on the potato farms in North Dakota where she met and fell in love with Allston Lindgren. the son of Philip Lindgren, for whom she was working. Dorothy mar- ried Allston on May 29, 1947. She participated with her hus- band Allston in the farming op- eration, later working at St. Ansgar Hospital and the Good "Samaritan Society in Park River as a cook. Dorothy is survived by her children: Sharon (Vern) Williams, Elk River, MN. Alayne (Dave) Duame. Prior Lake, MN. Paul (Juanita) Lindgren, Circle Pine. MN, Duane (Joy) Lind- gren, Fergus Falls.
