Softball Tournament will take
place at tile Grafton Softball Com-
plex. Registration starts at 8:30
a.m. with tealns being drawn at
9.,45 a.m. and tournament play
starting at 10 a.m. The cost to en-
ter is $10 with proceeds tYom tile

pice's Camp Good Mourning at
Park River Bible Camp in honor
of Kyle.
The program, run by Altru Hos-
pice. is an annual three-day camp
for children ages six through 18
who have experienced the loss of
a loved one.
Through the camp, children
play games and incorporate all of
tile fun of summer camp with
jc urnaling and recreational thera-
py to help process the emotions
that accompany a loss.
Three of Kyle's children were
able to attend the camp this sum-
mer. Kyle's sister, Yolanda Syrup,
said that they loved their experi-
ence there.
Yolanda. brother Paul Munoz,
and friends Bennet Johnson and
Kristen Pastorek of Grafton de-
cided to continue with the tour-
nament and this year, give back to
the camp because, Yolanda said.

Kyle loved the game of softball
and he loved his children This
way they could support both.
In addition to the funds raised
from the tournament fee and con-
cessions, Yolanda said that there
also would be silent auction items
available to bid on. Donations
have come in from Park River
businesses including the Alibi,
Dugout, Club. Art of Touch Salon
and Spa, and Wayne's Variety as
well as several f?om the Grafton
community.
"It's a good tournament for a
good cause," she said.
They hope to be able to alter-
nate locations at Park River ond
Grafton in future games.

pm in the school gym in Adams to present infor-
mation and answer questions regarding the pro-
posed Reorganization Plan with the Park River
School District.

available to provide public comment and ask

Bjerke was born
June 4, 1929 in
Grand Forks, ND.
the son of the late
Anton and Gladys (Halvorson)
Bjerke. He Graduated from Cen-
tral High School in Grand Forks.
Marlow was united in marriage
to Edith Ford on August 17. 1949
in Park River, ND. He served in
the U.S. Marines from 1952-
1954. He started working for In-
ternational Harvester in Grand
Forks. Following his discharge
he returned to International Har-
vester in Grand Forks. He trans-
ferred to Fargo and later moved
to Denver, CO. He retired from
International Harvester in Den-
ver in the late 1970's. The cou-
ple then returned to Fargo and
later returned to Park River,
where they lived until the time of
his death.
He was a member of the Fed-
erated Church, Park River and
the Paul Farup American Legion
Post # 147.

wife of 63 years

He was also sur-

tion was held Tuesday from 5-7
RM. with a prayer service at 7:00
RM. at the Tollefson Funeral
Home of Park River. Friends

Wednesday for one hour prior to
the selwice, lnternaent will be at
the Memorial Park Cemetery,
Park River. Military Rites will
be provided by the North Dakota
National Guard Honor Guard.

Ludger Kadlec
Ludger Kadlec,
100, formerly of
Pisek passed away
on Sunday, Septem-
ber 16, 2012 at
Bethany on 42nd in
Fargo, ND.
Ludger was born
March 26, 19 t 2, the
son of Frank Kadlec
Sr. and Mary
(Hodny) Kadlec. He
attended Pisek
School and was reared on his
parent's farm in Rushford Town-
ship where he farmed until his re-
tirement in 1976. He married
Elaine Horeisi on November 26.
1942 at St. Edward's Catholic
Church in Nekoma.
Ludger was a melnber of St.
John .Nepomecene Catholic
Church of Pisek where he served
on the church and cemetery
boards. He was active in the
community representing the
Pisek School and Rushford
Township Boards. He repre-
sented District lll in th e House of
Representatives and Senate in
the ND State Legislature. He was
a member of the North Dakota
Wheat Commission for eleven
years. He traveled extensively to
foreign countries with the United
States Wheat Associates promot-
ing.the sale of hard red spring
wheat
Following retirement the cou-
ple spent winters in Mesa, AZ
enjoying the climate, dancing,
playing cards and visiting with
friends. He enjoyed hunting,
sports and playing
billiards. Ludger
was an avid Twins
fan and enjoyed
wine making.
He is survived
by his wife Elaine,
sons: Lav rence
(Patricia) and Rod-
ney (Audrey) both
of Pisek, ND:
Gontran "Buster"
(Connie) Lan-
gowski, Hazen, ND: nine grand-
children and 12 great
grandchildren. He was the 'last
surviving member of his imme-
diate family. He was preceded in
death by his daughter, Kathy
Thoreson, his parents, brothers:
Stanley, Louis. Frank and Ed-
mund: sisters: Louise Greicar
and Emeline Langowski as well
as several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will
be Wednesday, September 19.
