CANCER SUPPORT, GRAFTON
Unity Medical Center's Cancer Support Group will meet in the con. ference room
at the hospital the first Monday of every, month. The Cancer Support Group
will meet at 5 p.m. for one hour. Come and share your story of loss, straggles,
triumphs and tips for coping with cancer with others who are in similar situations
as yours. Support groups are not just for people who have had cancer. Please

KELSEY'S COURAGE PICNIC, ADAMS
Kelsey Misialek died from injuries resulting from an accident this sumlner. Her
16th birthday would be Friday, Sept. 14, 2012. Her family invites you to
celebrate her life by atending a "free will offering" picnic in her memory. A
nonprofit scholarship for a student going into the medical or nursing field has
been started in Kelsey's name and this picnic will jumpstart the fufiding. Brats,
chips and sodas will be provided, we encourage everyone to bring a side dish to

NOTICE OF SPECIAL SCHOOL
ELECTION OCTOBER 9, 2012
Notice is given in accordance with
NDCC 15.1-12-11 that a special election
will be held for the purpose of approving
or rejectifig the reorganization plan for
Adams Public School District #128 and
Park River Public School District #78 to
form a new school district to be known as
Park River Area School District #8.
The election will be held on Tuesday,
October 9, 2012. Voters will vote in the
school district of residence. Polling
places will be located at the following:
Adams-Adams City Auditorium
Park River-Alumni Room-Park River
High School
Polls will be open from 11am to 7pm
at all polling sites.
The new district will include the
current property located within the
boundaries of the current Adams School
District #128 and the Park River School
District #78 located within the county of
Walsh. The debts of the current Park
River School District #78 are as follows:
Elementary School Bond $615,000,
School Construction Loan $308,898, Bus

$1326.65 and approve the monthly
financial statement with balance on hand
of $27961.41.
Heating/Cooling Project $335,000. The
proposed tax levies for the new district
are 110 mills for the general fund, 3 mills
for the high school tuition fund, 5 mills for
the technology fund, 10 mills for the
building fund, 3 mills for the special
reserve fund and 19.75 mills for the
sinking and interest fund of which the
current patrons of Adams School District
#128 would be exempt from, for a total of
150.75 mills.
Absentee ballot applications and
ballots will be available from the Business
Manager's Office in each respective
school prior to the October 9, 2012
Special School Election. A signed
application is required before receiving a
ballot.
