It was Mary Pat's vision to start a home for women who were pregnant with nowhere to turn. Now, it's a reality. Geianna, 8, was the first baby borntoa woman living at the home. St. Gianna's is where it all started for Geanna Mead on Oct. 22, 2004 as she was the first baby born to a woman living at the St. Gianna's Home. Middle Right: Jourdan Wheeler gets ahug from Fa- ther Joseph as she gave a powerful testimonial at the St. Gianna's Maternity Home program at St.Stanislaus Church as part of the Home s 10th anniversary. Jourdan is holding Nbrai her "mir- acle baby" as she calls her. Jourdain was driven to St. Paul by the father to have an abortion. Confused, Jourdan didn't go through with it as her mom told her of St Gianna's. Because of that decision Jourdan has a healthy, happy baby girl. In the 10 years of its existence, 84 babies have been born to mothers living at St. Gianna's and hundreds of others have benefit. Photos: LarrY Biri Bottom Left: A home for woman who were pregnant, alone and homeless was a vision for Mary Pat Jahner, now it's a reality in Warsaw, the St. Gianna's Maternity Home. The Home kicked off their year-longl0th anniversary celebration on Saturday. Bottom Middle: Dolores Grabanski proudly holds a picture of her son, Bryan Anthony Grabanski. Bryan, a St. Gianna's Board Member, drowned eight years ago. Dolores took his son's position on the Board. She sits in the guest room the St. Anthony room, which was named in honor of her son. The housemothers live at the Home, there is always at least one there and they tend to the needs of the mothers. ii
