THE V /ALSH COUNTY PRESS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8, 2018 Page 9 FORDVILLE, N.D. --The 5th Annual Disciples on the Diamond Baseball & Bible Mini-Camp was held at Sluke Field in Fordville, N.D on Monday, July 30th thru Wednesday, August 1 st. Three age groups participated in this year's camp. They were as follows: - Lambs - PK thru 2nd Grade from 5:00pm - 6:15pro Lions - 3rd Grade thru 5th Grade from 6:30 - 7:45pm - Saints - 6th Grade - 10th Grade from 8:00 - 9:15pm The camp focuses on baseball fundamentals and Bible related dis- cussion and prayer. In addition to the camp, this year participants in the Lions and Saints division also attended the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks game on Thursday, August 2nd at 12:30pm. Two charter buses trans- ported participants and chaperones round trip from Fordville to Fargo. Because of the generosity of the Fordville area businesses and or- ganizations, there was no cost to at- tend the camp, the RedHawks game, and each participant received a camp t-shirt. At the time of this release, there were over 85 registered campers. Brett Omdahl, the high-school baseball coach of the Park River- Fordville-Lankin Aggies is the camp director. Other camp coaches and helpers include Larry Omdahl, Jesse. Irvine, Trent Carlson, Ann Om- dahl, and Kerry Omdahl. Nearly 20 4-H'ers took their best shot at over 20 3-D targets, large and small, within the natural setting. The match is part ofa statewide summer 3-D circuit for 4-H youth. Participants wanting to compete in the summer championship series need two scores from two qualify- ing shoots throughout the spring/summer. This is the first year the North- east District hosted. The 3-D archery event consisted of bare bow and freestyle divisions. Participants scored 21 3-D animal targets and were allowed the best- of-two shots on each target to score a complete round. The yardages were adjusted for participants' age from 5-50 yards. Participants ranged in age from beginner, junior to senior levels.
