THE WALSH COUNTY PRESS VVEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 2014 Page 7 Benefit picnic planned at Park River Area school, donations welcome for scholarship fundraiser ADAMS, N.D. -- The family and friends of Kelsey Misialek are once again planning to hold the Kelsey's Courage Non-Profit Scholarship Benefit Picnic to help raise money to continue Kelsey Mae Misialek's legacy by assisting a lo- cal high school senior to pursue their dream of a medical or nursing degree. Kelsey was a fun loving energetic 15 year old that loved her Ford truck, mud running, 4wheel- ing, hunting, and school. Kelsey had a dream of becoming an orthopedic surgeon but on June 21st, 2012 her dream was cut short. She was side swiped by a pickup while she was on her way home on her 4wheeler. Kelsey passed away on June 26th, 2012. Kelsey paid it forward by becoming an organ, eye and tissue donor. "With your help, we hope to continue to pay it forward with the third Annual Kelsey's Courage Benefit Picnic," wrote the Misialek fam- ily in a letter to the community. "This is our only large fimdraiser that we do each year on what would be Kelsey's 18th birthday, Sunday, Sep- tember 14th, 2014." Since Kelsey's death, they have awarded two $500 scholarships, one to Raevyn Pesek, from Lawton, 2013 recipient and another to Morgan UrieU, from Lakota, 2014 recipient. If anyone would like to help, they are look- ing for donations, silent auction items, plates, chips, soda or water, hamburger buns, napkins, forks, decorations and volunteers. This year's Free Will Kelsey's Courage Ben- efit Picnic will be held at the Park River Area High School Cafeteria in Park River, ND from 11 am to 2 pm on Sunday, September 14th, 2014. The menu will be hamburgers, chips, various side dishes, soda and water. There will be a silent auc- tion, too. Non-Profit Donations can be mailed to: Kelsey's Courage PO Box 173 Adams, ND 58210 All other items can be dropped off at: Simplot of Grafton and Crystal REM ND in Grafton Misialek's in Adams or by calling 701-331- 1264 El)MORE SCHOOl, Area students graduate from UND in the 2014 commencement ceremony GRAND FORKS, N.D.- The on Saturday, May 10.
