The community was flooded with those from across the region reveling in the day from the parade, inflatable games, music in the park, to the annual fireworks show. PARK RIVER, N.D. -- Polar Communications is a member of the Rural Development Finance Cor- poration (RDFC). As a result, communities in our service area are eligible to apply for a grant of up to $2,000 for community-based projects. RDFC is mak- ing these funds available in order that more people become aware of their larger loan program that funds community-based projects and non-profit entities with low interest loans. RDFC has recently awarded a $1,000 grant to the Adams Rural Fire District. The grant proceeds will go toward purchasing new vehicle extrication tools for the department. MANDAN, N.D. - Ahead of the Fourth of July, U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp released the lat- est episode of her podcast, "The Hotdish," about honoring the sac- rifice and service of Vietnam vet- erans and the importance of telling their stories. In this episode, Heitkamp interviews documen- tary filmmaker Ken Burns and Vietnam veteran Dan Stenvold, Mayor of Park River, North Dako- ta, and the President of North Dakota Vietnam Veterans of Amer- ica.
