BISMARCK, N.D. -- ND Choose Life announced today that Shelle Aberle, a Bismarck, ND res- ident and Adams, N.D., native, will serve as the campaign Communi- cations Director for the effort to pass the Human Life Amendment. The amendment was placed on the No- vember ballot by a bi-partisan ma- jority of the Legislature, and will ap- pear as Measure 1, Aberle has taught public relations at the University of North Dakota, and has extensive experience work- ing on a wide range of local and na- tional projects. She created the "Day of the Deployed" in North Dakota in 2006 with former Gov- ernor John Hoeven, and in 2011, she played a major role in helping US Senator Hoeven pass the National Day of the Deployed. While supporting the military, she received the Points of Light award by former President George Bush Sr., the Dunkin' Foundation Serv- ing Heroes award, the Lifetime Presidential Award and most re- cently was appointed as an Elizabeth Dole Foundation Fellow. "I am thrilled that Shelle has joined our campaign team as com- munications director," said Janne Myrdal, chairwoman of ND Choose Life. "She is a skilled communica- tor who thoroughly understands the issues that are important to North Dakotans, and will be a real asset to us as we seek to support our elected officials by preserving and protecting the common-sense pro- life laws that we already have on the books," added Myrdal. "I'm very pleased to join the campaign supporting Measure 1, the Human Life Amendment. In North Dakota, we trust our legislators, and know that they listen to their con- stituents and represent the values that have served our state well for gen- erations," said Aberle. "Measure l, protects our very reasonable pro-fife laws---and stops out-of-state groups like Planned Parenthood from get- ting a state judge to impose an un- limited right to abortion based on their interpretation of the state con- stitution, as recently occurred in Far- go." ND Choose Life is a coalition of pro-life, pro-family, women's and re- ligious organizations that include the North Dakota Catholic Conference, North Dakota Family Alliance, North Dakota Life League, Love Them Both, North Dakota Right to Life and the North Dakota chapter of Concerned Women for America LAC, among others.
