JULY 3 t 2013 THE PRESS PAGE 7 Edinburg Blood Drive brings in 22 donors EDINBURG, N.D.-- The drive blood." held on June 13th at Edinburg saw 29 people volunteer to donate blood and 22 were able to give. One per- son gave blood on the automated 2RBC machine which collects two units of red blood cells during the donation, so a total of 23 products were collected. Three people gave blood for the first time! According to Jeanna Sender, Donor Recruitment Representative for United Blood Services, "Com- munities like Edinburg make a re- gional blood program work. Peo- ple volunteer to donate when there has been a well organized campaign, informing the public of the need for Pastor Jessica Merchant coordi- nated the drive. Trinity Lutheraa sponsored the drive. Others who as- sisted were: Alida Flom, Jan Jo- hanson, Carol Pewe, Beveryly Ham- mer, Toni Monsebroten, Lois Otto, Mary Seim and the Citizen State Bank. Space to hold the drive was provided by the Community Cen- ter. On behalf of the patients who benefited, United Blood Services ap- preciates all the thoughtful people who volunteered to help others by giving of themselves. Bjerke has been a familiar face at the front desk for over five years. She is excited to start her new po- sition, but will continue to be high- ly involved with her library patrons. Summerfest annual mud run brings in a mess of fun in Grafton The Grafton Summerfest schedule was filled with activi- ties for all ages. Sunday featured the annual ATV Mud Run, Top: Windshields were worthless as far as viewing the course.
