PAGE 8 THE PRESS JUNE 26, 2013 f PARK RIVER, N.D. -- The Park River 12U Baseball Team recently competed in the West Far- go Invitational Tourna- ment. The Pirates ended up taking third place, win- ning three games and los- ing only one. They pulled offwins against the even- tual tournament champion West Fargo winning 6-5, they beat Moorhead, Minn., All-Stars 10-0, lost to Heron S.D., 8-3 and beat the Bismarck All- Stars 6-5. The team also played in the Grand Forks Gerrell's tournament where they were the tournament champions. The team went 5-0 getting wins against Roseau 6-5, Win- nipeg 10-0, Grand Forks River Cats 1-0, Grand Forks Jackals 5-2 and Car- illon, Manitoba, 15-12. The. team is coached by Brent Zimmerman, Jesse Irvine, and Loren Zavalney. Players on the 12U 12s Travel team include Owen Irvine, Bryce Wood, Adam Zavalney, Nick Thomp- son, Josh Ham, Logan Syrup, Wyatt Jelinek, Wil Gaarder, Jacob Erovick, Lane Bell, and Nathan Zavalney.
