"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Dan Stenvold, Mayor hereby proclaims the An- nual 4th of July Celebration fire- works display the Tom Larson Me- morial Fireworks Show." The firemen raised around $2,500 through the annual Fire- men's Firework Fundraiser Supper earlier this June and are continuing to collect donations with buckets around Park River. Additional do- nations can be sent to the depart- ment at PO Box 279, Park River. The cost of the fireworks show is paid through donations collected throughout June and July prior to the show. The Park River Commu- nity Club Fourth of July fund cov- ers any additional expense beyond the collection. On the Monday prior to July 4 residents of Park River can see the first mn that the firemen do of the Leland S. 'Lee' Leland S. "Lee" Sturlaugson, age 84 of Park River, ND, passed away on Sun- day, June i4, 2015 at the Stanford Bemid- ji Medical Center. Leland Smrlaug- son was born May 20, 1931 in at a farm home near Langdon, ND, the son of the late Victor and AldiS (Johnson) Sturlaug son. He attended a one room ManiUa Township School for grades 1-8 and graduated from Langdon High School in 1949 as Co-Salutatorian. He then attended the North Dakota Agricultural Col- lege in a pre-veterinary curriculum from 1949-1951. He enrolled at the University of Minnesota in 1951 in the Veterinary Medicine program Smdattgson patient, supportive, kind, generous, hardworking, tal- ented, an authentic Christian, intelligent and much more.
