My wife and l are both in our seventies and are looking to purchase a new au- tomobile but couM use some help choosing one that's age friendly. What can you tell us? Car Shoppers Dear Shoppers, While there are a number of websites that rate new vehicles for older drivers, one of the most cred- ible is Edmunds.com, a top-rated online resource for automotive re- search information. For 2014, they developed a list of "top 10 vehicles for seniors" based on user-friendly features that help compensate for many of the physical changes - like diminished vision, arthritis, and range of mo- tion loss - that can come with aging. But before we get to the list, here is a rundown of different fea- Jim Miller t-arcs-thaf ate avail,gl'Mm_ new vehicl'ow y can help with variouslY@e-related physical problems. So depending on what ails you or your wife, here's what to look for. Knee, hip or leg problems: For comfort, a better fit, and easier entry and exit, look for vehicles that have six-way adjustable power seats that move the seat forward and backward, up and down, and the seat-back forward and back- ward. Also look for low door thresholds and seat heights that don't require too much bending or climbing to get into. Leather or faux leather seats are also easier to slide in and out of than cloth seats. Limited upper body range of motion: If you have difficulty looking over your shoulder to back up or merge into traffic, look for vehicles with a large rear window Via.ted: Parade entries for Hoople's 125th celebration on July 19. Even today, everyone goes to many dif- ferent marriages throughout their lives. Being 16, I still have a few more to go, however that doesn't mean that I don't appreciate the meaning be- hind the ones I'm already going to. This weekend, my family and I went to my mom's cousin's wedding in Minnesota. Obviously we went shopping since it is Minnesota. Sur- prisingly though that wasn't my favorite part of the trip down there. I ac- tually enjoy spending time with all my family, including the distant rel- atives we hardly ever see. It's even better when we can initiate even more people into our little clan through marriage. Being at the wedding, seeing all the people ther e, made it easy for me to see why this has been around for so long.
