For more than 30 years, The
North Dakota Leadership Seminar
brings together some of the Nol
Dakota's most talented yotmg peo-
ple from across our state to join to-
gether for an extraordinary weekend
focused on leadership development,
service, and issue awareness through
empowering discussions and in-
formal debate. Students walk away
each year with the tools they need
to motivate their peers to make a dif-
ference in their communities and
schools. Each student who attends
the pr'ogram is encouraged to go
back into their community and pro-
vide 100 hours of service through-
out the year.
Rusty Bender, Seminar Co-Chair,
explains how NDLS can encoulage
students to become leaders. "My
hope for students as they leave
NDLS is to have a greater under-
standing tbr how they can impact the
world around them, and that no mat-
ter how small, every effort counts.
They are tomorrow's leaders and we
help give them the confidence they
need to follow through on that re-
sponsibility."
The North Dakota Leadership
Seminar, established in 198t, is a
non-profit organization dedicated to
inspiring leadership skills and a
spirit ofvolunteerism in the state's
