God Bless you all. MaryAnn Kostohris Ann, Samantha and Kimberly Berg Mark, Karen, Teresa, Katie, John and Andrew Kostohris Ruth, Dan and Monica Gladitsch Veronica I. Johansen Veronica I. Jo- hansen, age 84 of Ed- inburg, ND passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at her home in Edinburg. Veronica Irene Kuznia was born June 24, 1930 in Flo- ftan, MN the daugh- ter of the late Michael and Bridget (Za- krzewski) Kuznia. She graduated High school in Stephen, MN and moved to Grand Forks to attend the St. Joseph's School of Nursing where she received her RN degree. Veron- ica then began working at the Dea- coness Hospital in Grafion, ND. She met her future husband Donald Jo- hansen at a dance in Veseleyville. They were married September 6, 1952 in Park River. To this tmion, five children were born. The couple lived and fanned near Edinburg. Veronica worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Ansgar's Hospital in Park River until retiring in1995. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was also very passionately pro- life. Veronica is survived by her chil- dren: Darryl (Tanya) Johansen, Grafion, ND; Randy (Janet) Jo- hansen, Edinburg, ND; Mary (James) Kertz, Edinburg, ND; Jeanne (Jeff) Peder- son, Thief River Falls, MN; Donald Johansen Jr. (Judi), Worthington, IA; eleven graladchil- dren, two step- grandchil&en, ten great grandchildren and siblings: Emil (Florence) Kuznia, Stephen, MN; Michael (Lillian) Kuznia, Florian, MN; Rosalia Smsynski, Stmndquist, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on June 8, 2006, brothers: Ira. Stephen andAl- bert and sisters: Philomae and Melany. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation was Mon- day from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funer- al Home of Edinburg. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Park Riv- er, ND. In lieu of flowers memori- als are preferred to the St. Gianna's Maternity Home, 15605 County Road 15, Minto, ND 58261, or a charity of your choice. I was overwhelmed by the many co- workers, friends and former patients who attended my retirement reception. The notes on the cards were humbling and greatly appreciated. Audrey was born February 20, 1955 in Gration, ND the daughter of the late Richard and June (Prochazka) Jelinek. During all of Au- drey's teenage years she willingly put for- ward her skills of car- ing for her sister's needs and taking care of household duties while our parents were busy tending to the family farm. She ex- celled in school, always being on the A honor roll at the Pisek Public School. She was valedictorian for her class of 1973. She received several achievement awards including, Out- standing Teenager of America, The Society of Outstanding American High School Students, Letter award for Cheerleading, Certificate Award for the class of 1973 Valedictorian, Janaesttwn College Honor Schol- arship and La Societe des Hommes et 8 Chevaux Scholarship for Out- .standing Achievement. She was on the committee for the school news- paper as well as other entities of school activities. Audrey enjoyed decorating and furnishing her home with the trend, an exceptional tidy homemaker, enjoyed cooking and baking, en- joyed flowers and shrub landscapes, lifelong photography including de- veloping her own film in the earli- er years. She loved visiting friends and family and enjoyed being a pet owner to her two canine companions and her cat. Having no children of her own, she enjoyed displaying pictures of her nieces and nephews mad always asked about their lives and well being. :' Audrey was a rare and special person and you knew it while in her pres- ence. She is survived by her sisters: Rose (Tom) Jordan, Shenendoah, IA; Shirley (Carson) Hovda, Roseau, MN; her aunt, Leona Anderson, Lynnwood, WA; brother:in-law, Bob Alvestad, Grand Forks, ND; nieces and nephews: Crystal White, Michael Jelinek, Shawna Siewert Zellemmm, Danson Siewert, Melis- sa Allbritton, Michael Alvestad, Carey Jergenson and Leah Staven. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sisters: Dar- lene Jelinek, Kathy Alvestad and Sandra Johnson, nephews: Shane Sandvig and Travis Johnson, aunts and uncles. Visitation was frOlll 6-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Graveside services were held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Pisek, North Dakota.
