IP I 1 D thDII ,nlng w, e I came across a recipe called "This and That Bars. It sounded like-Well I don t know what-But before it was ever put in my column I thinks I had better try it. I did and found it good, you will too if you make it. This and That Bars I cup white sugar • i cup brown sugar • i cup mayonnaise • 1 cup corn oil • 1 cup Rice Krispies • i cup oatmeal • I cup coconut • 1 cup nuts, chopped • 1 tsp. vanilla • I tsp. salt • 1 tsp. Cream of Tartar • 1 large egg • 3 1/2 cups flour • 1 tsp. soda Mix all ingredients thoroughls: Pour into a 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Pork and Beans Cake Bars 1 16 oz. can of pork and beans, (crushed well) put in blender • 1 8 oz. can crushed pineapple with juice • 2 cups sugar • 2 cups flour • 2 tsp. soda • 2 tsp. baking powder • 1/2 tsp. salt • 4 eggs • 1 cup oil • 1/4 cup nuts (optional) Mash beans well, add pineapple and juice. Add remaining ingredients. Pour onto a sprayed jelly roll pan. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Frosting: 1 8oz. cream cheese • 1 stick margarine • 5 cups powdered sugar • Mix well and spread on cooled bars, sprinkle with nuts. Plantation Bars 2 1/2 lbs. white almond bark • 1/2 cup peanut butter • 5 cups Rice Krispies • 1 cup dry roasted peanuts Melt the almond bark and peanut butter in a double boiler. Stir in peanuts and Rice Krispies. Mix until well coated. Put in a slightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan. (This hardens very quickly) Cut into squares when cool. At 5:30 pm, a meeting will be held to discuss the effects that demographics might have on the dis- trict in the upcoming 5 years with regards to pro- grams, staffing, facilities, and tax levies. At 6:00 pm, the board will present a proposed reorganiza- tion plan with the Adams School District. The public will be asked to provide input, ask ques- tions, and voice concerns with regard to this plan. A copy of the plan is available on the school's website at www.parkriver.k12.nd.us.
