Valley-Edinburg students inducted
into National Honor Society

The Valley-Edinburg Honor Society held Induction ceremonies on April 18, 2013, at the Edinburg gym. Joining current mem-

NOTICE OF ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that on the 11th
of June, 2013, the annual election for the
Valley-Edinburg School District #118 will
be held for the purpose of electing one
director for a three year term for the Valley
area and one director for a three year
term for the Edinburg area and whether
or not to publish the minutes. Polls will be
open at eleven o'clock a.m. and close at
seven o'clock p.m. Polling place will be
the Crystal City Hall, Hoople City Hell,
and Valley-Edinburg High School.
Positions up for election are those
currently held by Darrel Pastorek and
Fred Hall. The following people have filed
for the Valley area: Darrel Pastorek, Larry
McCollum, and Nick Otto. The following
people have filed for the Edinburg Area-
Fred Hall, Dee Dee Olson, and Bill
Nowatzki.
Applications for absentee ballots are
available at the Valley-Edinburg High
School Office in Edinburg, absentee
ballots must be received by Business
Manager, Eileen Rinde, at the Edinburg
office the day prior to the election.

Notice of Annual Election
Notice is hereby given that on June
11, 2013, the annual election for the
Fordville-Lankin School District #005 will
be held for the purposes of electing three
directors for three year terms. Publication
of minutes will also be on the ballot. Polls
will be open from 11:00 am through 7:00
pm. Polling places will be the Fordville
Ambulance Building and the Lankin
Firehall.

National Society of Collegiate
Scholars welcomes Sondeland
EDINBURG, N.D. -- Sadie
Dawn Sondeland of Edinburg,
North Dakota has accepted mem-
bership in The National Society
of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).
"NSCS is more than just a
symbol of academic achieve-
ment. Membership gives students
access to a number of amazing
benefits including career and net-
working resources, scholarships,
travel, and service projects both
on campus and in the commu-
nity," says Stephen E. Loflin,
NSCS Founder & Chief Execu-
tive Officer.
NSCS is a member of the As-
sociation of College Honor Soci-
eties and is the nation's only
interdisciplinary honors organi-
zation for first-year and second-
year college students.
Membership is by invitation only,
based on grade point average and
class standing. NSCS has nearly
one million lifetime members and
300 chapters in all 50 states, the
District of Columbia, and Puerto
Rico.
Sadie is the daughter of Peter
and Julie Sondeland, of Edin-
burg, North Dakota.
Midgarden earns scholarship
at Valley City State University
VALLEY CITY, N.D. -- The
Office of Enrollment Services at
Valley City State University is
pleased to announce that Jordan
Midgarden, son of Chuck and
Dana Midgarden, Park River,
ND, has been awarded a VCSU
V-500 Scholarship for the 2013-
2014 academic year. Jordan
graduated from Park River High
School in May of 2013.
Valley City State University
scholarships are made available
as a result of the generous sup-
port of alumni and friends of the
university. Students are selected
to receive these scholarships on
the basis of their high school
GPA, ACT/SAT score and their
high school class rank.
Area girls named to Lion's All-
Star Class B basketball teams
BISMARCK, N.D. -- The
2013 Lion's All-Star Basketball
games will be held in at the Far-
go Civic Center on Tuesday, July
23rd and at the Bismarck Civic
Center on Wednesday, July 24th.

STANDING HAY ON RIGHT OF WAY
OF INTERSTATE 94 AND INTERSTATE

The North Dakota Department of
Transportation (NDDOT) seeks sealed
bids for cutting, baling, and removing hay
on designated sections of highway right
of way along 1-94 and 1-29. Bids will be
for the 2013 haying season.
NDDOT will accept sealed bids in five
district offices. Faxed bids will not be
accepted. Interested bidders can contact
the respective NDDOT district office listed
below to obtain a bid document, copy of
the Risk Management Appendix, and
sample certificate of liability insurance.
The REQUEST FOR BID document must
be completed, signed in ink, sealed in an
envelope marked, "Bids for Standing
Hay", and submitted to the respective
NDDOT district office prior to the
deadline. The awarded bidder will be
required to sign a contract with NDDOT
agreeing to the terms for hay harvesting.
