m Page 8 THE WALSH COUNTY PRESS WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2015 ADAMS MEMORIAL DAY PROGRAM QUALLY-DVOI|AK POST 237 SUNI)AY, MAY 24 Adams American Legion Commander, Mark Drevecky announced that on Sunday, May 24th at 10 am, the Adams American Legion and Auxiliary will be having their All Faiths Memorial Day program at the Adams Lutheran Church. The keynote speaker will be the retired Marine Corps Colonel, Gene Hendrickson from Fairfax Station, Virginia, formerly from Adams. The American Legion will be presenting 40 year continuous membership certificates to Richard Gehrke and Terry Thorvilson, and 25 year to Douglas Borgeson. The American Legion Auxiliary will be presenting 65 year membership to Gladys Vigen, 60 year to Ada Drevecky, 55 year to Deanne Vigen, 50 year to Anna Ellingson and Dorothy Johnson, 45 year to Lori Erickson, 35 year to Beatrice Grove and Patricia Hove, 25 year to Danielle Bata, Jennie Bata-Swartz, Dallie Skorheim, Dana Skorheim-Smestad and Sharalyn Koppang, 20 year to Arnola Evje-Skorheim and Taylor Ensrude, and 10 year to Alissa Bata and Sandra K. Drevedky. There will be patriotic musical selections and the Adams American Legion Auxiliary will be serving dinner following the service. PARK RIVER MEMORIAL DAY PAUL FARUP POST 147 MONDAY, MAY 25 At 10:30 am, the Park River American Legion and Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day Service at the Park River American Legion in Park River. The featured speaker will be Pastor Mark Antal. Following the program, Paul Farup Post 147 will have a brief Memorial service at the following cemeteries: Memorial Park and Calvary Cemeteries, Park River; Kensington Cemetery, four miles east of Park River; Memorial Park Garden, Homme Dam; Golden Valley Cemetery, six miles west of'Park River; and German Lutheran Cemetery, four miles west and three miles north of Park River. They will have a quick meeting. Coffee and rolls will be available as they assemble flag bearers, the firing squad, etc., for military honors. A change this year will be to begin their Military Services at the Memorial, north of the Legion Hall, at 8:15 am; followed by a ceremony to retire the old flags and raise the new ones. There will be a Memorial Day Mass at St. John's Catholic Church in Pisek at 9:00am. Following Mass, the Pisek American Legion will conduct Military Services at the Pisek cemetery and then proceed to Conway and Veseleyville cemeteries for services there. When they arrive back in Pisek, lunch will be provided by the Pisek American Legion Auxiliary. Everyone is welcome!
