I Evelyn Baier Evelyn Baier, age 95, of Park River. ND, and formerly of Fordville, ND. passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Park River. Evelyn was born December 23, 1916 at Drayton, ND. the daughter of James and Edna M. (Bellamy) Torrey. She was raised and grew to womanhood in the Bowesmont. ND area. She attended and graduated from Drayton High School. She attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks, ND. Evelyn married Ferdinand Baier or December 14, 1935 in Grand Forks. After their marriage they lived in various communities before moving to Fordville in 1952 where she was bookkeeper at the Fordville Co- Op. In 1961, they moved to Wahpeton, ND. where She held various secretarial positions until 1966 when they moved to Ellendale, ND, where Evelyn was the nursing home administrator until 1976. In 1976 the couple moved to Grand Forks to manage the Road King Inn, retiring in 1981 and returned to Fordville. After Mr. Baler's death February 26. 1988, she moved to Grand Forks. later moving to Park River. Surviving members of her family include her son: Roger (Linda) Baier, Mayville, ND; 8 grandchildren. 14 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law: Lorene Baier, St. Thomas, ND and her sister: Frances Marks, Morris, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Leroy Baier; grandsons: Joseph Baier and Keith Carlson; stepdaughter: Carol Carlson and brothers: Leroy and Howard. FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 in the Bakke Funeral Chapel. Fordville, ND. VISITATION: One hour prior to the service.
