Thanks to all who made it possible for us to attend the circus through ticket donations and for all of the Team Green support! Team Green is an effort to show support for Samuel Green of St. Thomas. This PAGE 7 Highlights from the secretary's desk By Lois Solseng I'm usually the last one to write an article from the school and, obviously, it is that time of year again. I always struggle with what to write because I'm not a teacher so I'm not doing something special in class or doing a certain assignment, etc. I guess you could say that I have the best of both worlds. I get to deal with adults & children during the school day. So let me share with you some of my highlights of the school year. 1) I got a glimpse of the Super Apple Man! (Yes, that really was his name! He even used it when he called on the phone. Although he wasn't dressed as an apple - that would be the Fruit of the Loom guy). He was here to help with our RTI-B program. The program we have implemented regarding behavior! I wasn't in the elementary gym but it was loud! 2) I got dogged in our "Ugly Christmas Sweater" staffcontest. I thought I had it in the bag until I saw Miss Lothspeich's sweater. There was no contest. I had to concede defeat! Her sweater was pretty ugly! 3) I clucked like a chicken when I was asked to be in the kindergarten rock concert! Of course, I didn't know I was going to be the chicken! Even my son didn't know it was me when I made a surprise visit to his Math IV class. Deep down I know he thought I was pretty cool! 4) To celebrate Reading Month, the FM Redhawk Mascot paid us a visit! I was wishing I still had nay chicken suit! They really got the kids pmnped up. It was fun to see! Of course, not quite as fun as seeing Mr. Moe lose to Miss Boese in the race they had them do. He claims otherwise but I saw it with my own two eyes! 5) Rapunzel, also, showed up at school during Reading Month! Yes, it was me! But I had a long brown braid instead of a blonde one. A person still needs to have a sense of fashion regardless of the situation. I was in good company. Some of the other characters were: Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Thing 1 & Thing 2, Pippi Longstockings, Laura & Mary Ingalls, and The Cat in the Hat. 6) In a few more days, we will have at least 2 ducklings hatch! There is always excitement in the kindergarten room when the time draws near. They do it every year and it is still thrilling! I got to take them home last year and babysit them over the weekend. I can't say I was hurt to see them go! They are messy! 7) The final highlight of my year is coming up. I no longer have to attend Play Day! Although these are special events, every day is a highlight! You never know what will happen during the day. It is a pleasure working with the students, the parents and the sta I hope you all have a wonderful summer and 1"11 see you in the falH Editor " Note.
