The Kelsey's Courage Scholarship was initiated by the Misialek family of Adams in memory of Kelsey Misialek who passed away from injuries sus- tained in an ATV accident in June of 2012. Kelsey was an energetic and determined 15-year-old who had a strong desire to become an or- thopedic surgeon. Due to Kelsey's interest in medicine the Misialek family decided to award an annual scholarship of $500 to an area high school senior pursuing a degree in the medical field. Ufiell was selected because of her exceptional academic achievements, dedication to volunteerism, strong work dthic, and most importantly her willingness to bless the lives of oth- ers. The scholarship committee be- lieves that Uriell best represents what Kelsey believed in. Uriell will graduate from Lako- ta High School in May. PARK RIVER, N.D. --The Foundation for Rural Service's (FRS) annual Youth Tour is one of the most visible examples of the ,foundation's involvement with, and commitment to, rural youth. This year marks the 20th annual Youth Tour. Each year, in collaboration with NTCA member companies, FRS brings rural students from across the United States to Wash- ington, DC for a four-day tour of some of the most historical sites in the nation. While there, students also learn about the telecommunica- tions industry, as well as the regu- latory and legislative processes. Educational sessions on these top- ics are greatly enhanced by site vis- its to the U.S. Capitol and the FCC to meet with industry leaders and members of Congress. The stu- dents also are given ample time to explore the Nation's Capital and its many attractions. To qualify, the student's parents must be subscribers of Polar and the student must be age 16 or 17 years old at the time of the youth tour.
