Happy Easter!!
Easter is but four days away. Anyone serving or preparing
their meal for that day, do doubt, has chosen the meat and
vegetable for it. If ham is chosen, then these recipes will
maybe come in handy.
Honey Glazed Ham
1/4 C. honey 3 Tbsp. water 1/2 tsp. ginger ฐ 1 1/2 tsp
ginger 1 1/2 tsp dry mustard 1/4 tsp. cloves 1 fully
cooked ham
Mix all ingredients and heat completely, stirring until well
blended and bubbly. Brush on warm ham slices when served.
*I love this on sliced of ham
Ham Sauce
..... 1/3 C. brown sugar 1/3 C. pineapple juice 1 egg, beaten
well ฐ 2 Tbsp. flour 1 tsp. prepared mustard 1 tsp. butter
Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until
thickened. Stir occasionally, serve on sliced ham.
Up-side down Ham loaf
1/4 C. brown sugar, packed 1/2 C. crushed pineapple
(drained well) ฐ 1 tsp. dry mustard 2 Tbsp. vinegar ฐ 1 1/4
Smoked ham, ground 1/2 lb. groundpork 1 C. fine bread
crumbs 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. mustard 1/4 C. onion, minced
1 C. milk 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 egg
Combine the sugar, pineapple, mustard and vinegar; pour
into loaf pan, spreading into corners of pan. Combine rest of
ingredients, pack carefully but firmly on top of the pineapple
mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let
stand for 10 minutes; drain off liquid. Turn out on a platter.
This yields 8 servings
*Yams or sweet potatoes added to any ham meal along with
coleslaw makes a meal complete.
DO remember: If you boil a ham, save the water, wash 4-5
eggs, boil them in the juice for ham and eggs, as I have
mentioned in the past.
Until next time,
