Vegetables are low in calories. This low cal. dressing along with others may find its way to your recipe file. Low-Cal Dressing 1/4 tsp. onion salt • 1/4 tsp. garlic salt • 1/4 tsp. celery salt • 1/4 C. tomato juice Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Shake well and chill. Shake well again before serving. Use on a tossed salad or on plain lettuce. Boiled Salad Dressing 2 eggs, beaten • 1 C. sugar • 1 Tbsp. plus I tsp. flour • 1/4 C. vinegar • 1 C. sour cream ° Salt to taste Mix all ingredients together, bring to a boil stirring constantly. Boil until mixture thickens. **This is a great dressing for potato salad. Plain Salad Dressing 1 qt. vegetable oil • 1 pint vinegar • 2 Tbsp. garlic salt • 2 C. sugar • 2 tsp. dry mustard • 2 tsp. salt Put all ingredients in blender and blend until light and creamy. • *This is good on lettuce or cabbage and it keeps for a long time in your refrigerator. Valley Dressing 1 C. buttermilk • 1 C. mayonnaise ° 1 1/2 tsp. basil • 1/2 tsp. onion powder • 1/2 tsp. salt • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt • I big tsp. sugar Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Refrigerate and use when wanted. Homemade Miracle Whip 1 egg, plus water to make 1/4 C." 1 Tbs. lemon juice • 2 tsp. salt • 2/3 C. sugar, (added slowly) • 1 scant tsp. dry mustard • 3/4 C. vegetable oil • 1 C. water • 1/2 C. vinegar ° 2/3 C. flour In a blender put egg and water. Add lemon juice, salt, sugar, mustard and oil. Gradually add the mixture, while blending. Bring water, vinegar and flour to a boil in a saucepan. This makes a thick paste.
