?age 2 THE WALSH COUNTY PRESS * WEDNESDAY, MARCH 25,2015 Brian M. Kennel Brian M. Ken: nelly, age 72 of Park River passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Golden Living Center of Moorhead, MN. Brian Michael Kennelly was born March 2, 1943 in Grafton. ND. the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Camp- bell) Kennelly. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1961 and then attended UND studying Civ- il Engineering. He became a Land Surveyor, surveying land in Grand Forks County. Brian was united in marriage to Sandie Bur- ris in 1968 at Conway, ND. Bri- an was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 being sta- tioned in Germany for the length of his service. After his honorable discharge the couple remmed to Park River, where they raised their family. He worked at the Cavalier Air Station retiring in 2008. In 1994 he met his sweetheart Marie Simundson. They enjoyed build- ing their home together in Park River where they lived until the time of his death. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Park River and a member of the St. Thomas American Legion Post. He enjoyed playing Pinochle and also loved to visit with people. Bri- an was very proud of his children children and grand- children. Brian is sur- vived by his sweet- heart Marie Simundson, Park River. ND; chil- dren: Sean (Mari- on) Kennelly, Hol- ly Springs, NC: Colleen (Scan) Thompson. Winona, MN; Kevin (Melissa) Kennelly, Grand Forks, ND; Brendan (Dana) Ken- nelly, Grand Forks, ND; grand- children: Candice and Julien Kennelly, Drew, Jack, Kate and Will Thompson, Broden, Grace. Mary, Clara, Max, Simon and Gena Kennelly, James, Lily, Leah, Rose and Ruth Kennelly; brother Stanley Kennelly, Jr., Park River, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Erin and siblings: Dennis; Norbert and Maureen. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Park River. ND. Visita- tion was Monday from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery, St. Thomas in the spring. An online guestbook is avail- able at www.tollefsonfuneral- home.com EadJ. Ma eren Earl J. Marifjeren, age 84 of Park Riv- er, ND and Mesa, AZ passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in Mesa, AZ. Earl Jerome Mar- i0eren was born Au- gust 23, 1930 in Grafton. ND. He grew up on a farm near Hoople, ND and attended a coun- try grade school. He graduated from Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River, ND in 1948. In 1954 Earl graduated from the North Dakota State University with a degree in Agriculture. While in college he was an active member of the marching band and Alpha Gam- ma Rho fraternity. Earl was pas- sionate about his NDSU Bison teams. He served in the United States Army and was stationed at Schofeild Barracks, Hawaii. He re- turned to North Dakota and began a life-long career of farming, rais- ing wheat, barley, potatoes and sugar beets. With several farmers, Earl purchased the Park River Po- tato Company where he served as president and manager. Earl was a director in the Red River Potato Growers Association, mad served as president for one year. Earl was very civic minded and spear headed many community projects. He was proud to be a stockholder and serve on the Board of Directors for First United Bank opportunity to play in the Orange Bowl and Mardi Gras pa- rades. He was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Park Riv- er and the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church in Mesa. He was a charter member of the Gold Canyon Lions Club and a member of the Gold Canyon Arts Council. Earl is survived by his wife, Lor- na; brother. Allyn Marifjeren, Grand Forks. ND; children: Cindy (Richard) Lien, Hoople. ND; John (Nancy) Kelner, Gilbert. AZ: grand- children: Kristin (Marc) Bye, Karie (Michael) Currie. Josh (Finace Kirsten) Lien, and Jenna (Chris) Midgarden, Jack Kelner. Elnili Kelner, Jay Kelner; Millie's daugh- ter. Judy (Ed) Brown: Lad|, CA; Lorna's son and daughter, Brian Johnson, Tucson, AZ and Gretchen Johnson, Thousand Oaks. CA and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife. Mill|e; parents Selmer and Mary MariOeren and grandson Tyler Lien. Memorial services will be Fri- day, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Elva Marion Hendrickson was bornApri123, 1912 at Glenfield, ND the . .of the late John and Josephine (Johnson) Hen- drickson. She at- tended school at Glenfield and served as its first valedictorian. then attended the State Teachers College at Valley City, ND. While teaching at York, ND she married Fred Sill|man on June 12, 1942. In 1.946 they moved to Park River as Fred purchased what was to be known as the Sill|man hnple- ment Company. Later he pur- chased the Fairdale Supply and eventually farmed in Golden Val- and serving church. We are so proud to call her Mother and Grand- mother.
