Ella received a brand new ice fish- ing rod and reel combo plus a tack- le box. Second place went to Leland Ingeman who also received an ice fishing rod and reel. Nadia Lewis took home the prize for most fish caught on the day netting six fish. Nadia received an 800 piece tackle. box set. All participants who caught a fish received a soft shell tackle box that By Jesse Irvine For The Press FARGO, N.D.- The Park Riv- er Parks and Recreation held their Seventh Annual Ice Fishing Derby on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Homme Dam. The derby is held to give fam- ilies a chance to try out ice fishing and enjoy a fun filled afternoon on the ice. The fishing portion is geared toward kids and is free to all par- ticipants. We could not have asked for a more wonderful day to hold the event. Each participant has the opportuni- ty to grab a piece of fishing gear of their choice before the action starts. There are a wide variety or'items to choose from. Once the fishing started, there was a ton of action to be had. The fishing derby lasts for an hour and there were about 34 fish caught in that time. All fish are weighed and cess.
