Poster contest promotes
a clean North Dakota
BOTTINEAU, N,D. -- Keep
North Dakota Clean (KNDC)In-
corporated is proud to partner with
Newman Outdoor Advertising on
the 45th poster contest for grades 1-
8 and special needs. Students cre-
ate artwork that reflects his or her
knowledge about the responsibility
we all have to keep our state and
water clean, reduce waste, recycle,
plant trees, prevent wildfires, create
wildlife habitat, and use all our nat-
ural resources wisely. The first
place poster in each grade will be
turned into a billboard and placed
near the winner's hometown!
KNDC and ND Parks and
Recreation Department are spon-
soring a statewide digital media
contest to promote keeping North
Dakota trails clean and green by
showcasing the creative talents of
students in grades 9-12. This could
be an imige, video, or audio clip.
All posters and digital artwork
are due by March 15, 2013. Each
school is encouraged to send in one
winning school pbster from each
grade 1-8 and special needs. Any
student in grades 9-12 interested in
participating in the digital media
contest may submit one entry. The
rules and regulations, along with
an entry form, can be downloaded
ot www.keep-nd-clean.org.
All state winners, their imme-
diate family, and grade 1-8 teachers
will be invited to an awards cere-
mony on Friday, April 26/2013, in
Washburn, ND. Immediately after
the ceremony, a luncheon will be
served and everyone will get free
admission to the North Dakota
Lewis and Clark Interpretive Cen-
ter and Fort Mandan.
First Place Poster Winners re-
ceive a cash award of $100, a cer-
tificate, gold medallion and have
their posters made into a billboard
" by Newman Outdoor Advertising.
Second and Third Place Poster
Winners receive a cash award of
$75 or $50, a certificate, and a sil-
ver or bronze medallion. The First
Place Digital Artwork Winner will
. receive a cash award of $100, a
certificate, and gold medallion.
The Second and Third Place Digi-
tal Artwork Winners will receive a
$75 or $50 cash award, a certifi-
cate, and a silver or bronze medal-
lion.
