All in One Meal
5 or 6 boneless pork chops * i can cream style corn * I egg
beater * 1 medium diced onion * 1 cup seasoned croutons *
1 Tbsp. butter * Salt and pepper, lightly
Brown the pork chops in the butter• Sprinkle with salt and
pepper and put in greased casserole. Mix all other
ingredients, pour over chops and bake I hour at 350 degrees.
EVeryday Meatloaf
2/3 cup quick oatmeal * 1 cup milk * 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
• 2 beaten eggs * 1/4 cup chopped onions * 1 tsp. salt * 1/4
tsp. pepper * 1 1/4 tsp. sage * 3 Tbsp. brown sugar * 1 1/4
cups catsup * 1/4tsp. nutmeg • 1 tsp. dry mustard
Mix oatmeal, milk, ground beef, eggs, onion, salt, pepper
and sage and put into a loaf pan. Top with mixed brown
sugar, cat, sup and nutmeg and dry mustard, Bake one hour
at 350 degrees. Cool 10 minutes before slicing.
Ground Beef Patties
1 lb. ground beef * 1 beaten egg * 1 medium peeled and
diced potato * 1 small diced onion * 1/4 tsp. salt * 1/8 tsp.
pepper * 2 Tbsp. salad oil * 1 (12oz.) can vegetable V-8 juice
Thoroughly mix beef, egg, potato, onion, salt and pepper
in a medium bowl. Shape into six patties in a skillet,
browning them in hot oil over medium heat. Pour off an
accumulated fat. Pour juice into pan. Reduce heat to low and
cover pan. Cook 20 minutes or until done, basting
occasionally with pan juice. During the last 10 minutes of
cooking, uncover to thicken sauce.
German Meatballs
2 lbs. ground beef * 1 pkg. onion soup mix * 3 slightly
beaten eggs * 1 cup bread crumbs
Sauce:
15 oz. tomato sauce * 15 oz. cranberry sauce * 15 oz.
Sauerkraut, drained * 1/2 cup brown sugar
Mix first 4 ingredients together. Form into balls, place
single layer in greased casserole. Mix sauce ingredients
together and pour over meatballs, bake 1 hour at 350
degrees.

youth science camp scholarships
BISMARCK, NID. -- Gover-
nor Jack Dalrymple appointed
Glenda Fauske from the Coalition
for Conservation and Environmen-
tal Education to serve as North
Dakoti's selection c0ordblator for
:the 201.2 National Youth Science
Camp. Two high school niors
will receive a full scholarship to
exchange ideas with scientists and
other professionals from the aca-
demic and corporate worlds. The
nearly month-long experience in-
cludes lectures and hands-on re-
search projects presented by scien-
tists from across the nation:
overnight camping trips into the
Monogahcla National Forest; and a
visit to Washington D.C. The se-
lected delegates must not only
demonstrate academic achieve-
ment in science, but also show po-
tential tbr thoughtful scientific
leadership.
The NYSC experience is of-
fered at no cost to its participants,
so that selected delegates may at-
tend regardless of their financial
status. Contributions to the Na-
tional Youth Science Foundation
allow delegates to participate in
this "once in a lifetime" experi-
ence. Educational and recreational
"programming, as well as meals,
:lodging, and round-trip air passage
on scheduled airlines are provided
flee of charge.
Delegates arrive in Charleston,
West Virginia, on Thursday, June
27, and depart on Sunday, July 21,
2012. The NYSC is held near Bar-
tow in the eastern mountains of
West Virginia, within the Monon-
gahela National Forest. Applica-

lection coordinator at the following

makes tour stop in PR

PARK RIVER, N.D. -- A U.S
House hopeful made a stop in Park
River on Feb. 9 during her tour
across the state to meet with
comnmnity and business leaders.
Park River Mayor Dan
Stenvold took Pam Gulleson of
Rutland, N.D., on a tour of the
community and highlighted area
developments including the new
elevator build, main street, and
Kringstad Ironworks.
Gulleson said her tour of the
state would take her through
Fargo, Mayville, Grand Forks,
Park River, Lakota, Devils Lake,
Spirit Lake, Rugby, Minot,
Burlington and Berthold.
During the stop at Kringstad
Ironworks in Park River, she said
that that her goal is to promote her
platform for jobs and innovation
strategy. She said that Kringstad's
is a perfect example of what she is
trying to promote -- local
innovators providing local jobs.
Her strategy focuses on
bettering the economy through
bringing jobs back to America and
once again promoting the "Made
in the USA" concept.
"America needs to be building
their equipment in America," she
said.
Gulleson plans to continue her
tour of North Dakota throughout
the year to talk about what is
working alld what is not
"These are the things you love
to see," said Gulleson of Park
River's development.

CITY OF PARK RIVER
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
PRELIMINARY & CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING SERVICES
The City of Park River is requesting proposals from qualified firms interested in providing
Preliminary and Construction Engineering Services for various City Projects. The projects
may include funding from EDA. A general scope of the services to be provided for each
project is as follows:
Project 1 - Enqineerinq for Roadway and Infrastructure: Provide engineering services to
reconstruct 135" Avenue NE from ND Highway 17 south approximately 1% miles to a
new grain terminal site and provide infrastructure and roadway planning and engineering
for a proposed development east of Park River.
Project 2 - Electrical Transmission Line Extension: Provide engineering services for
construction of an electrical transmission line from an existing substation in Park River to
the south approximately 1 mile to a new grain terminal site.
Firms are invited to submit proposals for either or both of the projects listed above. A
separate proposal shall be submitted for each project Each proposal shall provide the
following information:
A. Project Information
1) Submit familiarity and understanding of the proposed project.
2) Submit proposed approach.
B. Personnel
1) Submit resumes of design and construction personnel with brief description of
project roles and reference to similar projects.
C. Experience
1) Submit list of five (5) similar projects in the last four years. (List owner, type of
work, and construction COSt).
2) In-house engineering expertise and/or need for outside consultants (civil,
electrical, mechanical, testing, etc.)
3) Survey expertise(Data Collection and Construction Staking).
D. References
1) Submit references of four clients and/or individuals, one shall be a financial
reference,
E. General Information
1) Ownership. Verify if minority owned.
2) Firm's headquarters where work would be performed and from which expenses
and mileage would be charged.
3) Name and phone number of the firm's contact person.
Each firm will be judged on a basis of values as shown above, Proposals shall be limited to no
more than 6 pages• Those firms not selected will be advised in writing• The City of Park River
reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.
