Roy A. Anderson
passed away on
February, 3, 2012
with his loving family
sun'ounding him at
First Care Health
Center in Park River,
ND.
Roy was born
October 13, 1942 to
Johann and Adele
(Lindell) Anderson in
San Mateo,
California. He grew
up in Edinburg and
went to school there, graduating
from Edinburg High School. After
graduation, he attended UND and
NDSU for a time. On September
6, 1964 he married Barbara
(Sanderson) Anderson and were
blessed with two children,
Suzanne (Chuck) Kartes and
Brian Anderson and one
grandchild Brandon. He worked
in the implement dealership all his
life.
He was a member of Trinity
Lutheran Church of Edinburg, the
North Dakota hnplement Dealers
Association and served as their
president in 1993.
He is survived
by his wife
Barbara, Edinburg,
ND, daughter
Suzanne (Chuck)
Kartes, Edinburg,
ND. grandson
Brandon,
Edinburg, ND,
mother Adele
Anderson.
Cavalier, ND,
brothers: David
(Kathy) Anderson.
Hermitage, NC,
Dan (Nancy) Anderson, Cavalier,
ND, and sister Jolayne (Richard
"Mac") McKnight, Cavalier, ND.
He was preceded in death by his
father and son Brian.
Funeral services were held on
Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at 10:30
A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran
Church of Edinburg.
Interment will be at the Trinity
Lutheran Cemetery of Edinburg.

Floyd Francis Fail
Floyd was born in
Hoople ND to Joseph
and Alvina (Triske)
Fail October 30 1928.
He graduated from
Park River High in
1947, enlisted Ah"
Force 1947-1950. He
returned to work in
the family business,
Ritz Cart, until
starting with the
Johnson's Stores Inc.
He and Joan
many state and
federal
campground
recreation and
refuge centers
throughout North
Dakota then
wintering near
Oatman AZ on
historic route 66
running Dakota
Leather and Gift
where one can still
find Joan a couple
Bodahl of Fertile MN married
March 18 1951 in Grafion ND.
This union brought two children.
He was involved in civic
organizations and local
C0inmittees including Chamber o,
Commerce, volunteer fireman,
scho01 lsoard and Boy Sc0uts 6f
America. He belonged to the
Toastmasters and Kiwanis Club
He coordinated the civil defense
efforts after the Cuban missile
crisis for the City of Park River.
He was active in his church.
Floyd purchased the Johnson's
Store in Park River in the early
60's and the Rugby store in the
70's, relocating there. Floyd and
Joan lived in Beulah, Bismarck
and then Minot, where he worked
for Job Service North Dakota until
he retired in 1994.
Retirement brought several
new ventures for the couple
including being camp hosts at
days a week!
Floyd liked to curl and bowl
although his true passion was
fishing.
He was preceded in death by
sisters Winifred and Phyllis and
Brothers Cyril (Pete) and Robert
(Mick)
Floyd is survived by his wife of
60 years, Joan, 3299 Boundary
Cone Rd., Mohave Valley, AZ
86440 Son David, New Salem
ND, granddaughter Jennifer and
great granddaughter Alyssa of
Connecticut and daughter Cara
and grandson Samuel, sister
Wanda Dahl of Canoga Park CA,
sister in law Odile of Grand Forks
ND and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Cremation has taken place.
Service arrangements are pending.

respectfully forwarded to his wife,
Joan in Mohave Valley, AZ.
Robert Dale Thorson
Robert Dale
Thorson passed away
February 4, 2012 in
Issaquah, WA at the
age of 75. He was
bum Aug. 23. 1936 at
the hospital in
Grafton, ND. the son
of Frithjof Johan and
Ethel Margaret
(Herum) Thorson.
He was raised in Park
River, ND, where his
father was the
Postmaster for many
years. Bob attended school there
for the full 12 years of grade
school and high school and had
fond memories of his years in Park
River. He was given the nickname
"Tweety" by his friends while
growing up and continued to enjoy
the name and Tweety Bird items
throughout his life. He loved to
play golf and was very proud of
the fact that in 1955 he won the
Hillcrest Championship in Park
River.
Bob graduated from the
University of North Dakota. with a
BSBA. in Grand Forks in 1959
and was then employed by the
U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services (Social Security
Administration) in Fargo, ND. He
met his wife, Dorothy (Simonson),
shortly after ta'ansferring to Minot,
ND, and they were married in
Zion Lutheran Church, Minor.
ND. the following December 10,
1960. Besides Minor, he also
worked in Creston, IA; Grand
Forks, ND; Miles City, MT. and
finally in the spring of 1973, to
Seattle, WA, where he remained
until his retirement in 1993. He
resided in Bellevue, WA, and was
a member of Cross of Christ
Lutheran Church
since 1973.
Bob was a
wonderful
husband, father
and grandfather.
He loved his
family and always
put them first. He
had a great sense of
humor and enjoyed
traveling and
camping with his
family and also the
many business
trips he made before retiring.
Bob is survived by his wife,
Dorothy; his daughter Cynthia
(Peter) Keese; his son David
(Joan) Thorson; two
grandchildren: Kristina and Daniel
Thorson; his sister Rebecca
(Kenneth) Gann. Calif.; nephews
and nieces Jeffrey (Tiffany) Gann.
' Deborah (Brian) Crossley, Valerie
(Scott) Smith. and Jerrel Cower,
all of California.
He was preceded in death by
his parents EJ. and Ethel Thorson
and his sister-in-law Mavis
(Simonson) Cower and several
aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be at
Cross of Christ Lutheran Church
in Bellevue, WA, and inurnment
will be at the Cross of Christ
Colulnbarium.
In lieu of flowers, the family
suggests a donation in Bob's name
to the National Parkinson
Foundation or to Cross of Christ
Lutheran Church, Garden of
Remembrance, 411 156th Ave HE,
Bellevue, WA.
