Fargo* Gran,J Forks* Mi°ot * Wi,iston : This past Christmas, I was given a jug of Maple syrup. What is better than that on waffles or pancakes? Waffles or pancakes are filling and are easy to make. Try this recipe for "Perfect Waffles." Perfect Waffles 2 C. flour • 3 tsp. baking powder • 1/2 tsp. salt • 2 eggs • 1 3/4 C. milk • 4 Tbsp. Crisco, melted Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Pour on to a hot waffle iron. There are no fancy ingredients. You get a perfect waffle every time. Make your own syrup Syrup 1 C. water • 1 C. sugar • I tsp. maple flavoring Add flavoring when the sugar and water start to boil. This will not be very thick but yummy on waffles. Waffles 1 1/2 C. flour • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder • 1/2 tsp/salt • 1 Tbsp. sugar • 1 C. milk • 1/3 C. vegetable oil • 2 egg yolks First mix your dry ingredients, add milk, oil and the 2 egg yolks, beat until batter is smooth. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in waffle iron. Good Pancakes 2 eggs beaten well • 1 Tbsp. sugar • 1/2 tsp. salt • 2 C. milk • 6 Tbsp. half & half cream • 2 C. flour • 2 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder Beat eggs, sugar and salt well, mix in rest of ingredients and cook on hot griddle Until next time, "Dell" qoo Dear Family and Friends, Thank you so much for your recent sup- port during my hospitalization. A V,,00X:zNxrr.oN wrrH EVERY As of October 24th, 2012, all pregnant women should receive a Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine with each pregnancy, irrespective of previous Tdap history. Yes, with each pregnancy! Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is spread from person to person Infants are born with no protection from pertussis They are very vulnerable to catching pertussis from people around them, and can get very sick, be hospitalized, and die from permssis All pregnant women should receive a dose of Tdap with each pregnancy Ideally this dose should be given at 27-36 weeks of pregnancy to maximize maternal antibody response and passive antibody transfer to the infiant. If you are pregnant, visit with your provider about this. and seek a Tdap vaccine even if you have already had one Also remind all those people who will be around your baby to get vaccinated as well-Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, Day Care providers, etc This is a life saving gift that all these people can give your unborn baby!
