LIFE TO LYRIC FROM PAGE 1
Thursday and is at the theater anyway, so she can offer manager's choice
of older films on that day:
The theater will be offering advertising time before each show to any-
one wishing to advertise their business and support the theater. The hope
is that the community support will create a new source of funding that
they have not been able to tap into yet.
Finally, Bandt said, the theater will be reopening on Jan. 20 with a
new schedule. She said the theater would be offering a kids' movie at 7
p.m. and an adult movie at 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. They will
no longer be showing on Sundays.
So far, the only additional funding that the theater has mined in has
been from a donation bucket to purchase new seats. To date, Bandt said,
the donations have added up to just over $800.
Larson said that the theater would need to generate 75 to 80,000 dol-
lars to be able to afford both new seats and the digital projector equip-
ment.
"This is a community venture," Larson said.
Bandt added that anyone who would be interested in donating or of-
fering fundizising ideas could contact her about how to save the Lyric.
"The change of the industry is causing us all of these headaches," Lar-
son said. "I hope the community does get behind this."
