PAGE 2 THE J R'ESS JANUARY 8, 2014 R. Larson Jesse R. Larson, age 38 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Jesse R. Larson was born March 23, 1975 in Park River, ND, the son of Stephen and Dena (Hennessey) Larson. He grew up and at- tended school there, graduating from Park River High School. Following his education, he worked at the Day Program at Friendship, Inc. in Grafton. Jesse was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. He enjoyed watch- ing TV and listening to music, especially Lawrence Welk., and spending time with his cowork- ers. His family was also very im- portant to him. Jesse is survived by his par- ents, Stephen and Dena Larson, Park River, ND, siblings: Chris- tian (Ashley) Larson, Park Riv- er, ND, Andrea Larson, Min- neapolis, MN, paternal grand- parents Gene and Ruth Larson, Park River, ND, uncles: Dwight (Shane) Larson, Park River, ND, Dan (Lillian) Hen- nessey, RenD, NV, aunt Diane (Henry) Sobolik, Forest River, ND, and cousins: Shannon (Jon) Markusen , Joshua Larson, Jacob (Sa- vannah) Larson, Jack- ie (Don) Bach, Rock Sobolik, Lincoln Sobolik, Sara (Byron) Fisher, and Tonya Hennessey. He was preceded in death by his mater- nal grandparents, Leo and Geor- gia Hennessey. Funeral services will be Sat- urday, January 11, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be Friday from 5- 7, with prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church for one hour prior to the service. We can help, Call the Press at 284-6333 Fred Holm Fred Holm, age 86 of rural Hoople, ND, passed away Friday, Jan- uary 3, 2013 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Fred was born on Oc- tober 1, 1927, in Edin- burg, ND to Ole and Matilda "Tillie" (Halvor- son) Holm. He com- pleted his education in the Dundee Township District 35 School in the rural Edinburg and Hoople area. Fred served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 completing active duty in Korea during the Korean War. Following his military service, he returned to North Dakota to the family Holm Brothers Ftirm where he worked with his broth- ers, Raymond and Joseph. On June 12, 1960, Fred married Gu- drun Finnson at Vikur Lutheran Church in Mountain, ND. Gu- drun passed away after 47 years of marriage on Novernh~r 1 2007. Fred was a member of the Hvideso Lutheran Church, rural Hoople, ND, and served on the Board of Directors for many years. After the church closed,_ . he became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ed- inburg. ND. Fred was a member of the Dundee School Board. He was also a member, for over 60 years, of the American Legion Post 157 in Edinburg, ND. Fred was passionate about his work on the farm and his community. He also enjoyed traveling to see his grandchildren as they were growing up, participat- mg in their activities and attending many spe- cial events over the years. During this past year, Fred attended his youngest grandson's high school graduation and spent the Thanks- giving holiday with Loretta and her family. Fred is survived by his daugh- ter: Loretta (David) Schmidt of Littleton, CO; grandchildren: Andrea, Michael, and Daniel Schmidt; brother: Joseph (Mac) Holm, rural Hoople, ND. Sev- eral nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife Gudrun; sister Bernice Field; brothers: Gilman, Raymond, and Leonard Holm. Funeral services will be Fri- day, January 10, 2014 at 2:30 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg. Visitation will be "PI.._ * a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Friends may also call at the church on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Military Rites will be provided by the Davidson Amer- ican Legion Post 157 and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard. Grommesh, 87, Far- go, ND, died on Tues., Dec. 31, 2013 at Elim Care Cen- ter, Fargo. Geraldine Lucille Fedje was born Jan. 29, 1926 in Hoople, ND to Edwin and Lily (Traverse) Fed- je. She graduated from Hoople High School and then attended 2011. She enjoyed needlepoint and jig- saw puzzles, as well as being an active mem- ber of the community club, birthday club, ladies aid, and an elec- tk (judge. Gerry is survived by her children, Bruce (Denise) Hagen of Ayr, Diane (Jeff) Nord of Pelican Rapids, Charlotte Hagen of Far- North Dakota State School of;go, and Mark Hagen of Victoria, Science in Wah eton, ND. Sh i: MN; step-children, Charles (He- worked as a secretary len) Grommesh of Fargo and West Fargo Stockyards: ff'y Nancy (Joe) Treviso of Albu- was united in marriage to Murlen Hagen on January 18. 1948. They made their home near Ayr, where they raised their family and farmed for many years. She prepared multiple meals daily for the farm hands and was espe- cially known for her bread made from scratch. They were mem- bers of Trinity L_utheranChurch April 19, 1975. In 1985, Gerry served as a ND Farm Bureau chairperson of the women's com- mittee and on the board of di- rectors. She was also an active member at Messiah Lutheran Church and volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital and Bonanzav- ille. Gerry married Harold Grommesh in Aug. of 1986 and they resided in Fargo. They moved to the Waterford (Touch- mark) in 2005. Harold passed away July 15, 2006. Gerry then moved to Elim Care Center in querque, NM; 9 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 great- grandchildren; 4 step-great- grandchildren; sisters, Earlyce (Lloyd) Pladson of Pelican Rapids and Joyce (LaVoy) Olson of Hoople; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Carla Hagen; and brother, Lyle l-'e ~l~.. Special thanks to Touchmark and Elim for their wonderful care of Gerry.
